Project description:
The theater was generally renovated and ADA was appointed to examine the existing acoustic conditions and to develop recommendations for the reconstruction. The main hall is essentially a speech theater and low reverberation is desired, but the measured reverberation time has been found to be too low. A target value of 1.3s was sought, and that is why absorber panels on the rear wall were replaced by scattering / reflecting surfaces.
Also for the balustrade, sound-scattering surfaces and no absorbing measures were proposed. In the small hall, certain measures were planned as well to reduce the high absorption and to increase the reverberation time.
In contrast to the two very dry rooms, the foyer is very reverberant. Here and in the rehearsal rooms, reverberation times are too long. It was proposed to introduce absorbers to the wall and ceiling areas. For all control rooms, acoustic recommendations were made too.
For the large hall, computer simulations were used to design positions for the installation of the loudspeakers and especially the subwoofers.
