Speech plays a major role in all worship houses. Only in most churches (not orthodox ones) and in some synagogues there are organs for which the room acoustic conditions can not be reverberant enough. The size of the worship house also creates problems with speech intelligibility. Today, the modern, digitally controlled, slimline line arrays have found their way to worship houses of all kinds. These ensure a very good speech intelligibility in rooms with reverberation times of 4sec and longer with unobtrusive installation and good selection of the installation positions.
