The central auditorium building of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg on the campus in Cottbus, opened in 1998, has a large divisible auditorium with up to 1,000 seats, three smaller auditoriums with 150 seats each, and four seminar rooms. The audiovisual equipment, especially the signal paths and distribution netwrok, dates back to the time of construction of the building and was therefore no longer up-to-date as far as signals of today’s systems. The entire signal distribution network has been modernized and digitally networked for contents up to 4k / 30fps in several stages during the lecture-free time. The system control has been renewed and made simpler for the user, where the technical staff of the building is provided with full access to all parts of the system and thus can technically handle even complicated special situations. The seminar rooms had their permanently installed projection systems, which are also integrated into the overall network of the building.
