Scope of services performed:
A new sound system had to be planned for the citizens' hall in the Spandau town hall in Berlin. The sound quality and the technical possibilities of the old system were judged to be poor. When planning the new building, the historical structure of the building had to be taken into account, which means that accompanying building construction measures had to be completely ruled out as part of the implementation of the new sound system. For example, to avoid additional cable routing in the hall, e.g. by the old speaker positions, the existing lines and the position of the central device rack have been retained.
The Citizens' Hall has a floor area of approx. 215 m² (including a podium), and a height of 7.6 m results in a room volume of approx. 1,660 m³. The hall is equipped with upholstered armchairs (172 seats) along with podium furniture (tables, chairs, lectern). The sub-optimal room acoustics in the hall made it necessary to have a sound system based on DSP-controlled, active loudspeaker lines, which were also to be controlled via the existing and reusable 2-core cables. The central device rack to be equipped and configured now includes up-to-date import and recording options and is operated via a user-specific interface by calling up implemented presets for various usage scenarios.
